Speak Up For Your Library
Sign up to receive a monthly email update on library issues and occasional alerts about legislation affecting libraries. You'll be provided with information and perspective about those issues and will be urged to call, write or email lawmakers on significant issues of interest.
Your comments to elected officials can make a difference. Legislators have commented that most issues draw few comments and that as few as a half-dozen calls, letters, or emails from constituents can influence their decision-making.
By signing up, you'll provide us the opportunity to quickly notify you about issues that develop so you can take action if you choose. This effective form of communication also helps hold down expenses.
So make your voice heard. Sign up to participate today! You can sign up online at http://www.winnefox.org/email.asp.

Memorial Movie Showing
In James Bradley's popular book, Flags of our Fathers, he told the story of the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima and the national celebrity it brought to his father, an Antigo, Wisconsin native. Join us at the Library for a showing of the movie based on the book and celebrate Memorial Day a little early. The movie will be held Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lower Level of the Library. The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
Y.A.P.
Yarn Addicts @ Play, an informal group of knitters and stitchers continues to meet Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at the Ripon Public Library. Ages 10 and up, at any skill level, are welcome to come stitch and play in happy camaraderie.
During the month of May, instruction in knit lace will be available under the expert tutelage of Cathy Brown of Brandon. Cathy is an experienced knitter who has gently taught many, including her four daughters, the art of knitting. Instruction will begin with a basic lace headband pattern. Participants can expect to learn how to read knitting charts, as well as "tricks of the trade."
There is no fee for these sessions. Donated yarn is available, but participants should bring their own Size 2 knitting needles. For more information, contact Linda DeCramer at 748-6160 or email decramer at riponlibrary.org.
Summer Reading Programs are coming soon! Be on the lookout for registration times and information!
